DOING.TOKYO
Privacy policy
Effective: July 20, 2026
DOING.TOKYO is an itinerary-planning tool. It does not currently require an account, and it does not sell personal information.
Location
If you choose “Use my nearby area,” your browser or device asks for approximate location permission. Coordinates are used on your device to match you with a supported Tokyo or Yokohama start area. DOING.TOKYO does not intentionally store or transmit those coordinates.
Saved plans and offline data
Route alternatives, diagnostic events, cached pages, and the latest validated editorial dataset may be stored locally on your device. You can remove them by using the planner’s fresh-start action or clearing DOING.TOKYO website/app data in your device settings.
Analytics
The production site may use privacy-oriented aggregate analytics to understand features such as route generation, selected planning modes, and outbound map clicks. Exact device coordinates, free-text preference fields, and complete itinerary contents are not intentionally included in analytics events.
External services
The planner links to Google Maps, venue websites, ticketing pages, and other third-party services. Those services process information under their own privacy policies after you open them.
Data updates and security
Editorial data is published as a versioned, validated dataset. The app keeps the last compatible copy for offline use and rejects incompatible updates. Reasonable technical safeguards are used, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
